Nima is a collection of 20 images that were illustrated by Farshid Mesghali in the beginning of 1980’s based on Nima Youshij’s poems and produced as an artist book by ABBookness. Having illustrated some Persian contemporary poems, Farshid believed that Nima Youshij is one of the most important Iranian Modernists and illustrated this collection with an aesthetically interaction of contemporary painting and Persian miniatures. With its layered construction of images and texts, the book becomes a visual exploration in Nima’s nights and moonlights.
Nima is a book of 20 screen-printed images on hand made paper and 20 poems on calque paper in edition of 100. Each cover is designed and hand painted by the artist. The production of the book initiated in spring 2016 and finished in fall 2017.
