Plakart
In the timespan of a few decades, marquee posters have become historically important because they are records that can lead to a new understanding of the design process, technique, and prevalent aesthetics of a particular era. “Placard” and “Plakat” are the terms prevalent for marquee posters of cinema. “Plakart” is a commercial term used by artisans for the words “placard” and “Plakat”.
The exhibition was based on Ali Bakhtiari’s collection in collaboration with Iran Film Museum and National Film Archive of Iran on the occasion of 5th Silver Cypress Biennial 29th December 2017- 22 January 2018 in Salam Gallery. The Book “Plakart” was published coinciding this event with articles by Ali Bakhtiari, Alireza Mahmoudi and Mohsen Shahrnazdar by Hoom Institute.
